Japanese Squiers – the best guitar deal around

My “Number One” guitar is a 1987 Squier Stratocaster made in Japan. I bought it used at Capsule Music here in Toronto for $300 Canadian Dollars in mint condition. As I stated in a previous post – my Squier Stratocaster is hands down the best guitar I’ve ever played!

The only modification to it was the installation of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickups to increase output and fatten up the sound.

All Squiers were initially manufactured in Japan until about the late 1980s or early 1990s. They subsequently moved production to Korea and China, with varying results in product quality. However, the Japanese made Squiers are the most pristine of all of them.

Honestly, they play better than the American-made Fenders I’ve tried – include those made it the Fender Custom Shop!😃

If you want to hear how good these Japanese Squiers can sound, here’s a video of me noodling on some blues with my Squier and a cheap Vox Valvetronix amp. I’ll let the music do the talking:

If you’re patient, you can pick one of these up used online for about $600 USD. Believe me, you won’t regret buying one! ☺️🤘🤘🎸
